I Am Not But I Know I AM: Welcome to the Story of God
By Louie Giglio

Ok so, I have about a month until I leave for China. For those of you who are reading and are floored by this statement..... I apologize. I am heading to China in a month. I am leaving everything I know--language, home, family, friends, 7-11 slurpees, worship freedom, dryers, driving, clean drinking water...and so much more.

It's like I am picking up at the beginning of my life when I came into the world as a blank slate but I am doing it now as a person who can talk and express herself. I am literally heading into the unknown but yet there is so much peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding of my current situation--a peace that can only come from God. He is definitely the reason for me to walk out these doors and into the next set. I am not exactly sure what He has in store for me besides getting me WAY out of my comfort zone and getting me completely by myself (besides the other teachers I will be with).

God continues to answer prayers and will continue to do so even during my 10 months abroad. I am confident in His line of work and through that confidence, I can be confident in the line of work He has me going into!

I am reading this book right now.. its listed on here so I wont go into naming the title. This book speaks volumes to my life right now. I am a small, minuscule part in a HUGE, MASSIVE God story that surrounds my entire life. My heart is so excited to be a part of the huge mission that is going on through HIS story....and I am so excited to find out what my going to China and teaching in a secular, private school has to do with that story!

Well..needless to say, its time to go to bed but before I do that. I want to say that God will give you amazing peace about everything when the exact moment happens that you are in desperate need of that peace.

Today was INCREDIBLE. My teacher had to be out due to her son being sick which was sad.. but that meant I got to be in the classroom all by myself today! I got to teach and subbing was great! The kids were incredible for me. I truly thought it was great and I got paid which was great fun!

On top of subbing all day we had a 715 am mtg which was SO early because that meant our little carpool had to leave at 630 which WOW, its early. I got to have an amazing talk with the principal about China and about life after China which was great and eye opening! And, I then got to sit down with a girl who taught in China a few years ago with the same company which was AWESOME. and makes me SO excited about this!

The only downside to today was the fact that the place I was hoping to work this summer is definitely full of applications and not enough jobs which is sad....but with everything else, I feel such a great peace and my carpool buddies had some ideas.... so we will see.

God is so good. He answers prayers abundantly and I am so blessed to be His child!!!!

I hope that you had an amazing day too......love.

funny how its been exactly a month since I last wrote.

In Awe

Last night ...as in valentines day evening... I got the awesome opportunity to go with my friend Megan to MSU to see Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman...and the main reason of our travels, Louie Giglio. This man is so gifted by our Heavenly Father and I was SO INCREDIBLY blessed last night after listening to his talk...ultimately listening to God's words flow from out from Louie. Louie loves science and uses it to glorify God and its AMAZING!.... Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman were also amazing and it was a very worshipful experience and I bought a cd and ITS INCREDIBLE!

The topic of the night.. The BIG NESS of God...

wow... here are some links to kind of show some things that he used in his talk to drive the points home.. the best one was Laminin which you will figure out when you see notice what the molecular structure looks like--Laminin is what holds us together(our entire body)

SNOW AGAIN !!

So last night at about 10:45 my phone ring. And I thought, WHO IS CALLING ME THIS LATE?! And I heard a voice on the other end say "Good morning school is cancelled!" It was my mentor teacher! WE DONT HAVE SCHOOL TODAY! What a blessing to get this phone call the night before! Sadly my roomie student teachers dont have the day off so... this morning I woke up early and made heart shaped pancakes for them  just like my mom used to do.  However, she always put the correct food coloring for whatever holiday we were one.. sadly there was no red food coloring in the house.

I made a list of things I want to accomplish today last night before I went to bed because I knew I wouldnt do it in the morning! Laundry, cleaning my fish tank, watching one movie (Erin Brockovich I think....), make my science lesson for... I think next week now, call my Grandma and call my parents, make some birthday gifts and lastly print out my resume because I think we will still be having our meeting at campus for teacher resumes. I hope we have that mtg because I would love to see the other interns. They are SO great. I so much enjoy their company at the school. I am one lucky girl!

So our Valentine Party is getting moved to thursday now.. and then our Hundredth day will be moving to Monday.. having a snow day, as wonderful as it is, definetly messes with all the planning that goes into teaching!

Well, it looks to be a wonderful day and its only 645 in the morning!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Snow

Today I have a snow day. Yesterday I had a snow day. Not necessarily for snow but for FREEZING temps. I couldn't believe it when I got the call this morning at 620. WOW. Another whole day. I got so much done yesterday..and now a whole other day. Megan(one of my housemates who also has a snowday) and I are just getting done with some quiet time and now going to watch a movie. A MOVIE BEFORE 9AM! Can you believe that?! A true snow day. Sometimes I wonder why more people don't go into teaching. Granted not everyone loves teaching little ones as I do but look at these perks! I have the day off of school, and if I wasnt interning I would be getting paid for it! Rightfully so though because Teachers have to deal with a whole lot of stuff so we deserve days like today and yesterday. I love being/becoming a teacher. Its one of my favorite things right now.

waiting to hear from China.....
